Geoffrey Swindell
16.06.10 - 03.07.10

Geoffrey’s ceramics are inspired by illustrations of marine creatures and science fiction hardware, fossils, tin plate toys and various eroded objects found on the beach.
By extracting essential elements from these sources and reflecting them in his own imagery he hopes to create vessels with ambiguous mysterious “presence”.
The structures are accurately engineered on the Potters Wheel and then softened by colour glazes to make the finished objects appear to be a synthesis of mechanical and organic qualities like man-made objects being eroded by time and taken back by nature.
